TRAIL DESCRIPTION

We hiked a portion of this one way 8.4 mile trek near Telluride, CO starting from the Matterhorn Campground (a beautiful place to stay!).  The trail is a little rough in the beginning and does stay close to 145, but eventually begins to swing away from the road noise and follow a wide path where the Galloping Goose railway use to run to and from Telluride. An unexpected sight was when we even crossed near private property and caught sight of a small waterfall off of Turkey Creek. There is not much elevation change to this hike, but being in the San Juans, there are plenty of beautiful views along the way.
