DESCRIPTION
This hike was completed as part of a backpacking trip into the Lost Creek Wilderness of Colorado. The trail can be steep in some sections, offering little breaks from the climb, but is well worth it as great vistas into uninhabited valleys can be seen. Ventures through heavy lodgepole forests and wild aspen groves are a fantastic relief. The trail eventually ends at Payne Creek, where multiple fresh water streams make their way through a mountain meadow area. This trail can also be utilized to connect into a section of the Colorado trail and the Brookside McCurdy loop trail. Traveling deep into the Wilderness also offers a great peace that can’t really be found elsewhere.
