TRAIL DESCRIPTION
Mesa Rim Loop is a part of the Hidden Mesa Open Space trail on the outskirts of Castle Rock, CO. This short loop hike keeps you wondering over naturally stacked flat stones and through desert like bushes and grasses. It offers great views of the peaks of the front range, even Pikes Peak can be seen clearly on clear days. I do advise to go on cooler or cloudy days as tree cover is severely lacking along this loop. Hidden Mesa also has a link trail that can be followed to connect to the Cherry Creek Trail system – a paved network that extends all the way into downtown Denver. This hike is an easy day hike for all level hikers with a parking lot and vault toilets at the start of the Pleasant View trailhead.
